Yarmouth is Hot Property

The council announced that the Yarmouth property received 70 proposals between July and late September (the deadline for proposals). Though these proposals range from “water-themed” to future landmarks, it seems that the casino bids are most likely—and this means that slot machines may be added to the British seaside. Both international and national companies are interested in brining slot machines to Yarmouth, and the council is hoping to find out in November if they won the bid to bring 150 slot machines to Yarmouth.

The town isn’t exactly modern—the buildings channel a 50s and 60s look more than the new millennium, but the addition of slot machines and a casino would add significantly to the local economy and help with revitalization efforts.

Others in the city are more concerned with helping tourism—and bringing in revenue that way—regardless of the revenue slot machines would bring. A landmark building or facility would significantly add to tourism in the town, without bringing the issues associated with slot machine gambling.
