Are Slot Taxes in Peru Too High?

With the current litigation in Peru about overdue slot machine taxes, it makes you wonder if slot machine taxes are too high—or are the casinos being greedy?

Currently, both slot machine, and casino owners owe at least $80 million in unpaid taxes—and this has been adding up since it is reported that casinos and slot machine operators pay an annual game tax of roughly $28 million.

So this begs the question, why aren’t these gambling and slot machine taxes getting paid on time?
