Last May began the slot machine crackdown in Ma., now
the ban strengthens as the License Commission seeks eliminate all gambling
devices in Ma., including: video gaming machines, slot machines type
machines, and other gaming devices. The ban is encompasses many type of slot
machines—and mentions that video poker and other similar games pose risks.
Enforcement of this ban stated in May when the Police Department raided
numerous locations like bars, restaurants, shops, etc. and seized over
$10,000 and 38 slot machines in and around Holyoke, Chicopee, and
Springfield. As a part of this slot machine ban, police officials can seize
any machines found not in compliance, and they have the right to revoke
liquor licenses from bars and restaurants.
This ban is slowly expanding as Holyoke has already banned video slot
machines, and other cities are in the process. Slot machines and other
similar rigged devices are on their way out of Massachusetts.
