Gaming Board's First Approvals

As the Pennsylvania Gaming Board continues the hearings to determine which applicants will in fact receive slot machine licenses in the state, the early bird casinos have successfully won approval this past week. The first to go before the Board were applicants proposing to add slot machine casinos to existing racetracks—and now gamblers can rest assured that five racetracks now hold slot machine licenses.

It seems that the applicants successfully assured the Board that they would help the economy, tourism, and that they were of sound character. One of the approved slot machine racetrack casinos is Pocono Downs—and the racetrack doesn’t plan to waste any time. They anticipate that the slot machine parlor will be up and running by November—which is great news for slot machine gamblers awaiting news of when slot machine parlors will open near them.

With the hearings in their beginning stages, slot machine enthusiasts can rest assured that slot casinos are coming soon.  Next up before the Gaming Board are all of the applicants seeking a slot machine license for stand-alone casinos. These casinos will populate the towns and counties without a racetrack, or with racetracks that don't need the boost adding slot machines brings.
