Casino Employees Pay a Price

If your seeking a slot machine casino job in Pennsylvania, get ready to put up a decent amount of money first. The future slot machine casino in Pittsburgh recently held a forum to seek out potential employees, and though they haven’t won one of the coveted slot machine licenses yet—they are confident that their planning will pay off if they do receive one.

But potential employees of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. need to be aware of the additional charges work at the slot machine casino could cost them upfront. Because of the nature of the gambling industry, before you begin working for a slot machine casino potential employees first have to undergo background checks—and depending on where in the casinos you are working it could cost you as much as $350 for the background check. Employees that will work directly with the slot machines, or have access to the money, pay $350 dollars for their extensive background checks. Other employees like chefs, servers, and other casino staff pay a $60 background check fee once they are hired; background checks are done by state police.

So why would the slot machine casino start looking for employees now considering they may not even get their slot machine license until December? According to Les McMackin III, Isle of Capri senior vice president of marketing, "the whole object is to hit the ground running." With the preplanning, the casino cold be operating 3,000 slot machines and over 2,200 employees shortly after receiving the license from the gaming board.
