The Three Rivers Casino has decided to break out of
their old cramped quarters into a much larger area. Though they had slot
machines in the facility, the casino couldn't add more because of the
cramped quarters. Visitors of the casino wanting to play the slot machines
could see that they were busting at the seams, but did not know the scope of
the expansion that has been planned.
They have decided to add 75 more slot machines this summer, and are moving
their restaurant to a larger structure on the Hatch Tract to make room for
the new machines. They are also planning on building a new 1.900 square-foot
structure that will look much like the original structure that will house
the casino and restaurant. The new slot machines will bring them to a total
of 400.
The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians have much
larger plans on the drawing board. They announced that they will be building
a permanent 70,000 square-foot casino-complete with slot machines- hotel,
and administrative building at the back of the 100-acre site. The
groundbreaking is planned for this year.
