Broward County is the latest area to get a
multi-purpose gaming and slot machine facility. The new complex will be in
what was once a jai-alai facility, but is now in the process of renovations
to house this new gaming complex complete with slot machines.
Boyd Gaming Corp. bought the facility which will be one of the few locations
allowed to house slot machines in addition to the other gambling. This new
complex is conveniently located next to a cruise ship port, as well located
next to other tourist areas. The county is anticipating a decent amount of
revenue form the tourists, in addition to locals, that are seeking out slot
machine gambling.
Building on the 20 thousand square feet complex may begin as early as next
year. Some of the features include a gaming room, the slot machines, and
restaurants and bars.
