The Las Vegas slot machine market could now be getting
a new neighbor – the Japanese. Aruze, a Japanese pachinko company, had
decided on Las Vegas to start creating slot machines. They had previously
obtained a two-year limited license, during which time they needed to work
on cultural differences and prove themselves worthy to the task.
The Nevada Gaming Board just awarded the corporation with what they have
been waiting for: a slot machine manufacturing, distributing, and operating
license for the state. They have overcome many of the problems that had held
them back, and have agreed on many conditions of their licensing. The
company will employ a bilingual employee who will act as the go between in
all matters of business.
The company has weathered any and all storms thus far, and is excited at the
opportunity that has been awarded them to go against the large companies
that create these machines in the American market. Pachinko has done so well
in Japan, though, that they truly do feel that they are on the right track
to make a killing.
