Gamble on Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania’s gambling population was getting antsy wondering if the state would ever resolve the conflict with the regulation of slot machine suppliers. It could not have come at a better time, as the legislature had just decided to put a proposal on the table that would eliminate state suppliers all together. Racetracks have been vying for the opportunity to run with this, and two of them have announced that they believe they can have the machines up and running by January.

Politics being what it is, the goal of 61,000 slot machines in various venues around the state doesn’t seem so crazy any more. They will be split up among slot parlors, racetracks, as well as two resort style casinos. Representative Jeffery Coy was concerned with the gambling being split evenly across the state, and this was one of the reasons why the process got hung up as long as it did.

As smart as the plan is, he finally let his contingency go so as to let the program pass. The board went over applications of many suppliers, but no decision has been made yet. Many companies received returned applications due to them not being complete.
