Blackpool’s announcement to create a gambling Mecca-
with slot machines- in the United Kingdom has real-estate investors going
crazy. The resort community is currently having many problems, and the
announcement sent people running for their checkbooks. There are many areas
that will benefit from the change, and investment firms are looking to cash
in on the new influx of gamblers and slot machine gamers that this will
bring to the area.
Blackpool’s resort will now be a kind of UK Las Vegas and with that will
bring thousands of slot machines and income to the location. The townspeople
are excited as they have been having problems bringing people to the area,
and thus have been suffering from the lack of tourism. Slot machines and
gambling could change everything around for them. There are eight areas that
have been narrowed down from a much larger grouping that will be in the
running for the casino, and Blackpool’s people are praying that they win.
Even if they are not the ultimate winners, the people still feel that just
the announcement that slot machines and a gambling Mecca are coming could
help them considerably. This could have other investors, etc. looking at
their town a little differently. They feel that the new influx of people
will still assist their economy and hopefully save them from ultimate ruin.
