| Microgaming Re-licenses Tomb Raider Slot Machine |
|---|
One of the most played online slot machines to date is the Tomb Raider slot, which uses the persona of the sexy hero, Lara Croft, and the action packed adventures of the major motion picture to keep gamblers entertained while still providing the opportunity to win very large jackpots and bonuses. MicroGaming software - not surprisingly - takes the honors for offering this classic game, and is now re-licensing the rights to using the Tomb Raider brand to continue offering the game to online casino and slot licensees. The Tomb Raider idea is actually owned and devleoped by Eidos Interactive, who MicroGaming has come into agreement with in order to offer the slot machine to their players. Additionally, MicroGaming also secured rights to developing and offering a new series of slot machines based on the popular computer game, Hitman. The extension for Tomb Raider is primarily due to the enormous success of the seventh Tomb Raider slot machine in the series - called Legend. Nobody really expected that after its release in April, it would top all of the online gaming charts across the board. However, following the large success of its predecessors in the Tomb Raider series, Legend became a legend in itself. As for the Hitman series of slot machines, Eidos Interactive has reported that it is one of their most successful games, and that the presence of Agent 47 (much like Lara Croft) is drawing positive attention. According to Eidos, a major Hollywood studio has already secured the rights to Agent 47, in order to bring the suspense and excitement of his covert, assassin operations to the big screen. Video slot machine gamers can expect to see the Microgaming licensed version of the Hitman slot machines before the end of this year. |
