Cowichan Tribe Excited About Incoming Slots

The Cowichan Tribe of Cowichan Valley is excited to have their very own slot machine parlor and bingo hall that will be gracing the development in order to subsidize the tribes charity organizations with the help of business brought in from tourists. The gaming center will feature seventy-five slot machines and a four hundred seat gaming hall all within a state-of-the-art 16,400 square foot, two story building with gorgeous river front views.  The site will be named Chances Cowichan.

The slot machine establishment is going to be part of the the B.C. Lottery Corporation developments that work together with other Indian reservations at developing slot machine and bingo business with the purpose of benefiting the community.  Past developments include, Chances Kelowna and Chances Kamloops.

The tribe itself will receive ten percent of the eight percent not given back to the players as winnings and another twenty percent of that eight percent will go to the Dabber Bingo Society that will also manage the facility.  The Society is also a charity organization that supports several local charities in the valley.

They are also excited in offering the community a genuine entertainment experience with quality and sate of the art technology, "We're really promoting the idea of the entertainment experience, These aren't loonie and toonie machines." The centre will also house more than just slot machines - It will feature a restaurant with full service bar, lottery services, and retail space.

The vice president of B.C. Lottery Corp., Marsha Walden, is excited to have such a large portion of the proceeds going toward charitable organizations while also being a quality establishment.
