Atlantic City to Test Customizable Slot Machines

Following the lead of Las Vegas, Atlantic City is now on its way to adopting legal measures that would permit mobile gambling devices, as well as a new series of innovational slot machines.  A proposal is currently being examined by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, which some senators like Barbara Buono, believe will be adopted into legislation by the closing of this calendar year.

New Jersey's Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee seem to be in full support of the new betting innovations - characterized by their approval to introduce a test trial of the new slot machines at the start of next year.  What makes these slots different than the rest of the pack is that they give their operators a wider range of branding and customization options.  With a simple download, casino operators can change the features of their slot machines, depending on what their players are looking for in their gambling experience.

As for the wireless gambling devices, these too would enable bettors to gamble on slot machines.  As is practically a reality in Nevada, handheld devices would let players tap into a gaming platform for a particular casino at which the player is physically located.  In the next few months in Las Vegas, this surmounts to sitting poolside or in a resort restaurant and having the capability of placing bets at table games or slots.

Despite all the optimism, getting legislation passed in New Jersey will not go without a fight.  Some Senators think that handheld gambling devices will increase the occurrences of underage gambling and cheating.  Some even think it will only help fuel more online casinos that target American players.
