No More Erroneous Slot Machine Bills

The House Gaming Oversight Committee for the state of Pennsylvania has a tough road ahead now that the slot machines are legal in the state and many of the proposed casinos are already up and running. But that won’t stop Tom Creighton from carefully examining each bill that comes through the committee that regards the state’s slot machines. Creighton is a four-term republican representative recently named to the committee, and he has a history of voting anti-slot machines.

But though he voted against legalizing the slot machines a couple years back, he has accepted that the slots are legal and he is prepared to ensure that all of the new legislation that goes through the state is well thought out and thoroughly accounts for any provisions that may be necessary in the future.

One issue the Committee has with the way the slot machines bills were handled is that some of the bills were not proper in their scope. With the legalizing free drinks for the slot machine players bill, the Committee feels that the bill should have covered how casinos are to interact with minors playing the slot machines (those over 18 though).

These are the sorts of issue the Committee feels can be worked out in all future legislation since all gambling and slot machines bills will have to first go through the Committee before they are ever voted on by the state house.
