Delaware and Pennsylvania's Slot Machine Compete

Now that Harrah’s has opened the Chester Casino in Pennsylvania, some are worried that the new slot machines and gaming facility will pull patrons away from the Delaware Park casino nearby. There is no doubt that Chester needed the slot machines as a way to bring more income and traffic into the town. The slot machines mean jobs, tourists, and most importantly revenue, but what about Delaware Park ask some?

The Delaware Park casino has a lot going for it as well, the casino boast slot machines and electronic gaming, and the casino is already established. Also, Delaware allows the casino to offer free drinks to patrons playing the slot machines, and Delaware Park takes full advantage of this right.

Now Chester on the other hand does benefit from a brand new facility that has more offered amenities for the slot machines players. These include: restaurants, local hotels, pubs, shopping, and more. Though Chester Casino does not offer electronic gaming, the facility has 200 more slot machines than Delaware Park. Plus, because the facility is newer, Chester has newer slot machines, and they boast a completely paper ticket system which they feel may cause fewer hardware and logistical problems than coin machines.

In the long run though, some may choose to stick with Delaware Park for the free drinks, and others may prefer the newer slot machines and restaurants, but if the recent revenues from both locations are any indication, there are enough patrons and revenue to share.
