Massachusetts Wonders About Slot Machines

With the appointment of Daniel E. Bosley as Governor Deval Patrick’s new Chief Economic Development Advisor, many wonder is Massachusetts even has a chance at getting the slot machines now. When Patrick was running for governor, many citizens appreciated his stance on the slot machines. Though he was not blatantly for the slot machines, he also agreed to keep an open mind about the slots. Now, however, Bosley’s fierce opposition to slot machines could shut down any hopes for slots in the state.

With Patrick coming into office, many of the slot machines proponents thought this could be a new era of positive legislation for them. But according to Bosley, he still believes the Governor should keep an open mind about the slot machines, even though Bosley does plan to open speak his anti-slot machines opinion to the Governor as well. Says Bosley, "[Governor Patrick] has to listen to the arguments and explore the issues and then figure it out on his own.”

But all of this concern about Bosley being elected to Advisor could be for nothing. No one is sure yet if he will even be responsible for handling the slot machines issue.
