There is no doubt about it, Video Gaming found a niche
market when they started offering leased slot machines to the tribes in
various states. Video Gaming allows Native American Casinos the flexibility
of leasing the slot machines rather than buying the slot machines from
distributors—a deal that seems lucrative for both the tribes and Video
Gaming.
Currently Video Gaming does business with tribes located in Oklahoma, Texas,
Alabama, California, Mexico, and Montana—but the majority of their slot
machines revenue (over 90%) comes out of Oklahoma. The way the deal works is
the tribal casinos get the latest bingo type slot machines (Class II slot
machines) from Video Gaming, and in return the company takes 20-30 percent
of the slot machines revenue.
Video Gaming is looking to expand their slot machines leasing options to
other states in the coming year. And in regards to the latest pending
legislation regarding the distinction between Class II slot machines and
Class III slot machines—Video Gaming is confident it can and will adjust to
any new legislation.
