The time of traditional slot machines are far behind
us, and even the slot machines you can find in Las Vegas look like they may
become passé in the near future. According to Las Vegas Gaming, Inc. their
new product, PortalVision could very well revolutionize slot machines. Now,
rather than being stuck with whatever slot machine you choose to sit in
front of, the slots player can sit down, and choose which game they want to
play. These new slot machines can become a traditional slot, lottery, or
various other types of gaming device.
Here is a look at some of the elements of these “revolutionary” new slot
machines:
AdVision: Marketing at its finest, this feature allows the slot machines
operators to use the screens as advertising space when the slot machines are
not in use. Appealing because it is just one more way for operators to pull
in revenue from the slots.
PortalVision: This element will unlock the slot machines screen and then
allow the slot machine operator to send what are termed “offers” to the slot
machines’ gaming screens. The operator can choose to send the offer to one
slot machine, or a whole floor of slot machines.
PromoVision: This element is a virtual portal that links the slot machines’
player to the casino, and any messages that the casino may want to share
with the patrons. The operators are able to send media messages and
promotions to the slot machines. Additionally, the slot machines become a
video kiosk slots players can use to order tickets for shows for example, or
other casino related purchases and reservations.
SlottoVision: The slot machine players can use their credits on the machines
to purchase lottery tickets. When they are finished on the slot machines,
they are able to get the lottery ticket, and the rest of their slot machines
credits for use on another machine.
WagerVision: This feature combines sports/race betting with the slot machine
experience. The slot machines allow a player to watch the sport, then switch
to the slot machine mode, and then place a bet on the machines, all without
leaving your seat.
