Colorado is cracking down on the illegal slot machines
running rampant across the state. The state is low on employees in the
Colorado Division of Gaming, and as a result defective and illegal slot
machines are on the rise in slot machine casinos in Colorado. After
admitting that the Division of Gaming had too few employees to adequately
monitor all of the slot machines and slot machines casinos, the Division did
a preliminary look at the 46 slot machines casinos currently operating in

years after the Division requested the change.
This example demonstrates that the Division did not have enough employees at

According to a gaming consultant and the former Chairman of the New Jersey
Casino Control Commission, Bradford Smith, “defective slot machines on the
floor which people are continuing to play can destroy the credibility of the
industry and the regulatory authority, and that's something that you want to
