The Glacier Peaks Casino has made itself a landmark in
Montana for its innovation and sheer size. The Blackfeet Tribe is now
operating the most slot machines, and the largest casino in the state—and
needless to say, they are pretty proud. Their new slot machines casino
includes all sorts of extra features and because of the recent success of
the casino, the Tribe is even considering an expansion.
Though the Glacier Casino may pale in comparison to some of the slot
machines in Vegas, the state of the art bingo halls, 500 slot machines, and
table games attracts many of the Montana residents, and especially some of
the Asian residents prominent in Calgary. When the casino and slot machines
were under development, the Tribe chose to add a few Asian elements to the
slot parlor as a way to make that large demographic feel more welcome in the
casino.
Some of the changes include: lotus blossoms as decoration, red touches
throughout the gaming and slot machines gambling areas, and even changing
the number 7’s to 8’s.
Some might ask why the Blackfeet Tribe concentrated so much effort on the
development of the casino, and according to the tribe, they wanted to build
a landmark for Montana that people could travel to, a worthy destination for
tourists and residents alike.
Part of the future plans for the casino include expansion of the gaming
areas, as well as the addition of many more slot machines and amenities for
the players. All of these additions are still in consideration though and
the tribe will make concrete decisions once the year-end revenue figures are
