It’s been a year now since the Bangor Slot Machine
casino opened in Maine, and the results are in on what the slot machine
revenue will be for the year. According to the initial numbers the presence
of slot machines brought in 860,000 gamblers. And these numbers are pretty
surprising according to the parent company—Hollywood Slots had a much lower
expectation when it opened.
The anticipated slot machine revenue is estimated at 17 million which goes
both to Bangor and the state of Maine. According to Penn National, Hollywood
Slots parent company, with the success of the Bangor slot machine facility,
Penn National has plans to create and even larger slot machine facility
planned for an opening in 2008.
According to the Maine Gambling Control Board, it seems that the slot
machines bring in a whopping $3,500 per slot machine per day for the last
six months of operation. So with that fact taken into account, the residents
of Maine have really taken to this slot machine parlor and are betting their
hard earned dollars to the tune of $1,500 wagered per slot machine.
Penn National has a lot to be thankful for on this one year anniversary of
Hollywood Slots, they took the leap to place the gambling facility in
Bangor, hoping that the slots machine parlor would be well received, and
based on the year end revenue, Hollywood Slots’ success is only going to
increase as it further establishes its presence in Bangor.
