Florida's New Slot Machines Arrive

Gulfstream Park is looking at its new slot machines that have just arrived—which is fantastic news for Paul Micucci, the racetrack’s president and general manager. This batch of slot machines is the first of the 516 planned slot machines that will operate at the new gambling and slot machine facility. With all of this excitement, Miccuci was excited to announce that the opening of the facility is no more than “weeks and days away.”

Micucci plans to unveil all of the new facility in one grand opening rather than operating some of the slot machines before the official opening. As a part of the opening for the slot machine casino, Micucci plans add bleacher-style seating outside of the slot machine casino and racetrack. Gulfstream Park will have “something to unveil in late November or early December,” and they anticipate the it “will be ready for the racing season.” Like many new slot machine casinos, Gulfstream Park is home to a racetrack as well which is why the term “racino” is often used to refer to these types of racetrack/slot machine casinos.

The actual slot machine casino will have a wide variety of gaming options, everything from slot machines, poker, simulcasting, and restaurants and bars. The addition of the slot machines will actually benefit the surrounding community with the addition of 600 jobs ranging from specialized slot machine technicians and operators to restaurant employees. And the slot machine casino anticipates that once the full planned facility opens the community will benefit from another 900 jobs, many of which are filled locally.
