Slot Machine Day Trip Service

Now that slot machine casinos are beginning to open around Pennsylvania, many casinos are trying to make it even easier for residents to enjoy the nearby slot machines. The Mohegan Sun slot machine parlor at Pocono Downs will benefit in an increase in business thanks to the Luzerne County Transportation Authority.

According to the Transportation Authority, beginning November 18, a new bus service will allow residents of Pittston and Mountain Top to enjoy the slot machine casino but without the commute. The bus service will pick up the slot machine gamers in their town, then bring them to the casino, allow them to spend three hours enjoying the slot machines and other amenities, then return them to their town.

The Transportation Authority Director, Stan Strelish commented, “We're trying to make it convenient for the residents of Luzerne County.” The bus service will operate throughout the week, with more frequent trips on the weekends. Though some patrons already use the existing bus system to travel to the racetrack, the transportation authority expects that this new bus service will increase the number of bus riders once the slot machine parlor opens in mid-November.

The slot machines at Mohegan Sun slot machine parlor are a result of being one of the first parlors to be granted their slot machine license from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board in September.  The Mohegan Sun slots parlor did not waste any time ordering the slot machines and getting the parlor ready for a quick opening.
