Community Slot Machines Sweep the Casinos

Community gaming seems to be winning over many slot machines players, and it isn’t hard to see why. The community slot machines rely on players all playing the same bank of slot machines—then when one player hits a jackpot, everyone wins an amount that is determined by what level of play they themselves are at. The community slot machines are still considered a new technology but you can still find it at some gambling halls and slot machines casinos.

According to Ed Rogich, vice president of marketing at International Game Technology at the Borgata in Atlantic City, "there are a lot of advantages to what they are offering and you can tailor it to your own unique operation. It could give us the ability to adjust the mix to whatever the players want in a region, right down to the property level, and we can still maintain communication between all the properties."

But though community slot machines are very popular, and players can be sure that this technology will be spreading across the country, some other innovative new technologies could be a little farther away. The server-based technology has been looked into before, the question is, how marketable to the consumers is it, and how much is it going to cost to manufacture and main the slot machines? Even with those considerations, server-based slots are being actively looked into and some lucky slots patrons could see the trial versions out as early as the end of 2007.

"It was clear to us that the potential of central server/downloadable is moving ahead, but we would characterize it as evolutionary rather than revolutionary," commented Steve Kent of Goldman Sachs. slot machines  slot machines spread throughout the world.
