Seneca Tribe Pays for Slot Machines

The Seneca Nation of Indians is no stranger to paying the state of Nevada huge amounts of money in slot machine revenue payments, but this year could bring in far more money than anticipated for the state. According to the Niagara Gazette, the casino’s slot machine revenue for 2005 is expected to be more than $57 million—this is the amount the tribe paid to the state for the 2004 slot machine operations.

The Seneca Gaming Corp. filed paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission showing the Corp. owed the state $67.3 million as of September 2005, so it is expected that the Seneca’s will owe well over this amount when the rest of the calendar year is factored in.

Though the spokesman for the Seneca Gaming Corp. wont disclose the exact amount of slot machine revenue going to the state, by all accounts, it’s going to be more than in the past years.
