PartyGaming May End Online Gambling

The online gambling industry is prepping for the approval of the Safe Port Act. If the president signs the Act into law, online gambling in the United States will come to an abrupt halt. Considering that the US online slot machine gaming, and other forms of gambling account for millions of dollars in revenue, this could have a significant impact on many companies that currently rely on US gambling for a majority of their revenue.

Others are ready to comply. According to PartyGaming, "the Board of PartyGaming has determined that if the President signs the Act into law, the Company will suspend all real money gaming business with US residents, and such suspension will continue indefinitely, subject to clarification of the interpretation and enforcement of US law and the impact on financial institutions of this and other related legislation."

This is just the first of many companies expected to be affected by the Safe Port Act.
