Slot Machine Manufacturer Expands Business

The slot machine industry’s largest slot machine manufacturer announced recently that the company will soon expand offerings to include electronic table games. International Game Technology is looking into acquiring the technology for these new table games from an Austrian based company known as Novomatic AG. Now in addition to manufacturing slot machine IGT will manufacturer the new gaming machine that may very well revolutionize the way roulette, blackjack and other table games are played.

Part of the beauty of this new electronic gaming concept lies in the increased market IGT will gain. In state like Pennsylvania and Delaware only slot machines are allowed at the slot machine casinos. These new electronic games are extremely similar to the slot machines because they allow blackjack and roulette players to use the gaming machines in a multiplayer format but without the presence of a dealer as is necessary at traditional gaming tables.

In addition to the increased supply to machines in slot machine only states, IGT and slot machine industry analyst believe the new electronic games will have a market in Europe, Macau, China and other places. One analyst, Bill Lerner commented “We believe that IGT will likely gain some share of the [electronic table] market, while we think the worldwide opportunity remains quite compelling for all players."
