The slot machine industry is dynamic and constantly
changing, and nothing shows that constant change like the personalized slot
machine experiences currently undergoing testing. Casinos listen to customer
feedback, and what they are hearing right now is that gamblers are demanding
a more personalized slot machine. They don’t want to have to wait in line to
play the slot machine game they choose-they want the instant gratification
of a customized experience.
Basically the casinos are looking at replacing the traditional, stand alone
slot machines with computer stations/terminals and handheld computers.
Players can then choose whichever slot machine experience they want, and
load the card onto the computer. And the experience doesn’t stop there—the
player can customize the games on the card, and search games similar to
their favorites.
Mark Lipparelli of Bally Gaming and Systems believe that this new
customized, system-driven slot machine is “the direction of [the] industry.”
And it could be out sooner than most people think. Once the machines pass
the gambling and slot machine regulatory agencies, you can bet that casinos
will integrate this new technology quickly.
