| In-House/Propriety Progressive Slot Machines |
|---|
In our series of covering the different types of progressive slot machine jackpots, we are now going to shed some light on in-house progressive machines, which you will hear many slot strategists say is the best type of progressive jackpot in terms of the frequency and size of payouts in relation to one another. Also called propriety jackpots, the progressive jackpots for in-house progressive machines do not get as large as the wide area progressive slots, which accumulate earnings from thousands of slot machines played at via several casinos simultaneously. However, they are still larger than stand-alone progressive jackpots, which build from a single machine in a single casino. Getting a greater frequency of hits than the multi-million progressive machines, in-house progressive slots award considerably large jackpots since the total jackpot is being accumulated by more than one machine at once. In some casinos, the jackpot may be generated from a single bank of machines (sometimes several banks of machines, as long as it is the same game), or, the jackpots may even get bigger when they are contributed to by a handful of casinos that are owned and operated by the same gaming company. Considering that propriety jackpots are not being competed for by such a large number of players from many casinos (which is why the wide area jackpots get as large as they do), but that they still are being substantially built up to what would be a generous "jackpot" in the truest sense of the word, in-house progressive slots are a hot commodity which should be sought out by casino slot lovers.
