Multiplier Slots Symbols

When playing online video slot machines, you will likely come across something known as a Multiplier Symbol.  This feature serves as great incentive for many slots players when selecting a machine to play, and should likewise be a considering factor for yourself.  When searching for machines that payout larger sums of money, you should look for those that operate with multiplier symbols.

Essentially operating as wild symbols, multipliers will complete the best possible winning combination (in conjunction with the other symbols hit by the reels), and will then go on to multiply the winnings of that particular payout by the number of the multiplier.  For example, if three bars lined up on three reels pays out 500 units per unit bet, if two reels lined up with bars, and the third hit a 3x multiplier, the winning payout would then be 500 x 3, which is 1,500 units.  In some rare instances, two reels could simultaneously hit two multiplier symbols, in which case they would be multiplied together first before multiplying that sum by the payout scale.

Multiplier symbols can really make a difference in one's winnings.  While most machines offer 2x and 3x multipliers, it is beginning to be more common to see 5x and 10 x multipliers at many of the newer slot machines.  This can amount to up to one-hundred times an initial payout.  Just keep in mind that just because another online slot does not have as large of payouts does not mean it pays out any less.  Rather it is likely it will pay out more often in smaller denominations.
