Everything the slot player needs to know
| The Antiquity of Slot Machines |
|---|
If you love playing slots, you probably have an idea about how long slot machines have been around. Especially if you have read any of the slot machine books that are currently in publication, you will have assuredly received a lesson on the history of the slot machine and its humble beginnings. And although the history books like to tell you about the first slot machine - Liberty Bell - in 1895, there is another story that takes the slot machine back further...much further! Let's go back to ancient times and have some fun! So did you know that slots were first played in the Garden of Eden by Adam and Eve? Of course they did...and this is how it went down: One day - after the whole naked thing - Adam and Eve were sitting around, when Adam got an idea. "Eve" he said, "Try taking this acorn and see if you can roll it so that it settles between those two rocks over there". Eve got really excited at the prospects of playing a game and asked Adam what he called it. "Um" said Adam, "I...er...call it...umm...slots. Ya slots!" At that, Eve got even more excited and proceeded to roll her acorn down the little slope. "I did it!" yelled Eve, which she skillfully did. However, in the midst of the rolling action, her fig leaf began to come loose. Despite some reservations, Adam convinced Eve to just take her fig leaf off. Since it was only the two of them in the Garden (and some old snake), there was nothing to worry about, right? Well, then it was Adam's turn to play slots. He grabbed an acorn and rolled it directly between the rocks. "I won!", yelled Adam. Eve shouted out for joy as well, and then asked Adam what the prize was. While looking intently at Eve, Adam thought about it hard, and then responded, "I get to take my fig leaf off too."
